25 May 1900 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 25th [May 1900]. The book moving went on all day & was accomplished & all is settled down. Nellie is looking for rooms to set up as a dressmaker & we went to see various rooms which are for hire in this neighbourhood. Aunt Felicia came to call & she & I walked up to Cav. Sqr & lunched with Blanche. I came home & at 4 we had a “Layard Home” Committee meeting Dr Bond, Hyslop, Lady Gwendolin Cecil & myself. It was decided to apply to the Red + society for funds. Felicia came to dinner & helped me to dress to go to a party given at Wimborne House to meet the King of Sweden. Nellie & I went at 10.30. It was not amusing. I never saw the King who sat in a front row to hear the music which was going on. We came away abt 12–
