13 June 1900 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 13th [June 1900]. I went in the morning to see Hallam Murray to consult him about asking Sir A. Otway to write some account of Henry’s Parliamentary career so as to fill up that gap in his Memoirs. Hallam thinks it will be a good thing to ask him to do so. I went by 6 P.M. train to Wimbledon to stay with Violet Vivian for a night. Violet had been up in town for the day & met me at Sloane Sqr station & we went together by underground railway. Dined at 9.30 with her, Baby & Miss Taylor. Sat out in the evening with Violet in the little garden but the damp & cold soon drove us in—such are the changes of our climate!
