21 September 1900 — Salce, Belluno
Friday. 21st [September 1900]. Nela came to my room for early breakfast at 7.30. At 9 she walked with Mrs Eden to Socchieva to see the Wiels. Mr Eden went part of the way & tired himself so much he was quite laid up. Lunch at 11.30. Soon after all our party came up from Belluno, stayed about an hour & then returned to Belluno to go to Venice this evening taking Nela with them. Carry Eden drove me at 4 o’clock to a villa where Mr & Mrs Hulton are staying. Mme Villari was with them & leaves tomorrow– Met there a Mr & Mrs Langford. He is studying to sing on the stage & has lately married & is Mrs L’s third husband & is half her age. Mme de Blumer (Countess Vera Brazzà’s mother) an Irish lady widow of a Russian. M. & Mme Wiel & Mme Coletti née Mocenigo. Returned to Salce. Dinner at 7.30. Bed at 10.
