29 October 1900 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 29th [October 1900]. The Bishop & Lady Mary left by the 8.40 train for Verona. Lady Poynter, Eda & I went to lunch with Mr & Mrs Curtis at 1 o’clock & afterwards we went to the Piazza to the jeweller to arrange about Eda’s pearl necklace to which she is getting larger pearls added—& returned home by tea. I was very exhausted & also had a fit of indigestion & had to lie down till dinner. In the evening I had my usual reception. About a dozen friends came.
