Saturday. 17th [November 1900]. Pouring wet day– Mr Christie took B in the morning to see churches. Mr & Lady Mayra Cavendish & Lady Alex Beauclerk came to lunch. I thought to amuse them & show them this house & the pictures. They seemed pleased. I did not move out all day. Iduna Bel dined with us. News of the Bayonne accident says Dss di Zuagli is not dead—but has a broken rib & both arms broken. The Duke, their nephew & ladysmaid were killed. The Canevaros have gone to Paris & Bayonne–
