Wednesday. 2nd [January 1901]. Modelled– Out in gondola in the afternoon to the Piazza– Ellen & Clara Montalba came to tea. Mme de Blaas née Prina also came, the wife of a painter—a pretty woman & wonderfully young looking for a grandmother. She has a queer reputation but she talked most nicely of marriage &c &c & one would imagine her a model wife & mother. Later came Countess Ersilia Canevaro with Baroness Reinelt & the Montalbas– | |
