10 January 1901 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 10th [January 1901]. Busy day packing, arranging &c for tomorrow’s start. Went to the Piazza to get my ticket for tomorrow’s journey. Also went to call on Marchesa Cassio at the Prefettura to bid her good bye. Iduna lunched with me & we together called on Mme Rubini near the Frari & then separated. A good many people came to tea with me at 5 to bid me goodbye. The Dss della Grazia & her daughter, Maria, Mme Noce & her son Mr Moore, Css Giustina Valmarana & her daughter, Mr Montalba & Mr Banbury, Baron de Pury. I went to dine with Countess Canevaro & there met Baroness Reinelt, the 2 Signoré Cozzi & their sister Maria & Clara Montalba. Came home abt 10– | |
