2 May 1901 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 2nd [May 1901]. After lunch I went out to the Eden’s garden. It was a lovely day. Stayed there a short time & then went to tea at Mme Wiel’s. Met there Lady Albemarle & Hilda Keppel who are leaving Venice tomorrow. Heard that Fanny Browning is very ill– At 6 oclock several people came to see me Lady Radnor, Miss Chaplin & Countess Canevaro who came specially to make their acquaintance. Lady Galloway & Mr J. R. Green called having just come from Crete. Mme Wiel also came & there was a consultation over the proposed concert in aid of the church. Owing to Fanny’s illness the thing is suspended for the moment.
