3 May 1901 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 3rd [May 1901]. Mr & Mrs Kennedy & 2 girls arrived from Corfù to stay with me. The steamer was expected in at 8 A.M. but they did not arrive here till 12. I waited breakfast for them in vain till 11. Mr Christie called & Mr Montalba at the same time so we had a discussion over Sailor’s Institute affairs & constituted ourselves a Committee decided on sending a letter to the B & F society virtually breaking entirely with them. After luncheon the Kennedys went out to see their 2 other children at the Hotel Britannia. I began to copy the little Carpaccio in the middle drawing room for my catalogue. There came up a tremendous thunderstorm abt 6. Mrs Curtis came to tea bringing Miss Allen who is staying with her. Played patience with the Kennedy girls in evening.
