8 May 1901 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 8th [May 1901]. I went out in the morning to get presents for the Kennedy girls. The whole Kennedy family left at 2 oclock for Milan & England. There was a thunderstorm wh lasted all the afternoon till about 5 when I went out in gondola. Called on the Montalbas & walked from there with Hilda we went round by the Rialto to my house & there parted. At 7 Sir Edward Poynter & his son Hugh arrived from England to stay with me– Mme Rubini looked in in the evening to bid me good bye & to say she would send for her picture home which I have not been able to sell.
