6 June 1901 — 3 Savile Row
Thursday. 6th [June 1901]. I lunched at 1 & then went off at 2 to St Paul’s Church Knightsbridge to attend Kathleen Hanson’s wedding to Mr Hewitt a clergyman– The church is one of the High Church ones & the rector is Mr Montague Villiers, Mrs A. Walrond’s father. The service was choral & floral & many lights were lighted. The music was good. The bride looked pretty & was very smiling. To me the service was very trying & brought back many memories. Coming out of church I met May Boyd Hobart Pasha’s niece who was such a friend at Constantinople. I took her in my carriage to Babham Garden where Mrs Hanson lives & where the marriage presents were on view & refreshments dispersed. After saluting the bride & bridegroom & I left & went to 20 Cork Street to fetch Nellie & took her shopping & then went home to tea. I began to model again this evening– Louis Du Cane came to see me & sat & talked while I worked away. Irène & Myles Ponsonby dined with me & Nellie. Myles is now a good looking young guardsman. Today Amy & Mr Percival called to tell me they are leaving London to go & settle at Peterborough.
