19 July 1901 — 3 Savile Row
Friday. 19th [July 1901]. Was better but not very well but up at 7 as usual. I had Connie & Bee her daughter, & Pablo Casals to lunch with me. He is leaving for Paris on Monday unless the Queen should require him to stay & play before her. I sent the carriage to fetch Miss Hogarth & to bring her to dine with me & we had a pleasant quiet evening together. Nellie returned from Lutterworth abt 10.30 quite tired out & went at once to bed. In the afternoon I drove out & called on Mr Burton & paid him a long visit which is a thing that pleases him vastly. I went also to see Mr John Murray to talk to him about Henry’s Autobiography & told him Mr Willy Bruce had undertaken to be editor. I told him also how I had found that the bust of Henry presented to the British Museum has disappeared & he promises to help me to try & get it replaced.
