16 October 1901 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 16th [October 1901]. I had such an indigestion that I went off to see Mr Burton & to get a remedy. He said I was overtiring myself & advised me to go home & keep quiet wh I did. In the afternoon Sir Henry Thompson called also Mr Adams & his daughter & Sir Domenic Colnaghi– The latter I had not seen for a long time & it was a great pleasure to us to have him. He gave a sad account of his daughter Katie’s marriage, her husband having turned out dreadful & she is now separated & lives alone with her 2 little girls in Florence. Nellie & Eda dined out & Emilia & I had a quiet evening & went early to our rooms to do the last touches to our packing in order to start tomorrow for Venice.
