20 October 1901 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 20th [October 1901]. I went to 10.30 service at St Giorgio (S. Vio) & then went to meet Emilia at the Accademia & Ellen & Hilda Montalba went with me & we had a general look round before luncheon. In afternoon we went for a row which Emilia enjoyed vastly. It is so long since she was here that she had forgotten the joys of this incomparable place. Luckily it is still very fine & even warm & it is pleasant to have a prolongation of summer. | |
