25 December 1901 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 25th [December 1901]. Christmas Day. Went to morning service & took Iduna with me. Afterwards we ran to the Piazza to buy a last Ch: present for a maid & thence home as it rained. Emilia & I dined with the Edens & met M. & Mme Wiel, Mr Williamson & Mr Byard. It was pleasant & quiet. There was an entertainment at the Sailor’s Institute to which I promised to go but when we left the Edens & found it was raining I shirked & we went home to bed. | |
