4 January 1902 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 4th [January 1902]. Modelled. Wrote letters. Very thick fog at times but sometimes it cleared away & the sun came out quite hot. I was tempted to go out after lunch in gondola but the fog returned doubly thick so after a short visit to the Montalbas I came home. The cook came to me with apologies & withdrew her notice & peace is restored between us. Emilia & I went to dine with the Hultons who live opposite the church SS Giov. & Paolo. Met the Wiels, Css Elena Colitti né Mocenigo, Sr Ricardo Cozzi & Mr Williamson. Excellent dinner & pleasant talk. Home by 11—still foggy.
