1 February 1902 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Saturday. 1st February [1902]. The weather terrible this morning & it was snowing hard when we got up & continued to snow all day. We read Emilia & I a great [deal] together. I read aloud from Molmenti’s Vita Privata de Venezia a delightful book. At 5 Commendatore Guggenheim came to tea & kindly talked with me over my affairs here & his Agent came & we arranged abt insuring the house, furniture against fire. | |
