21 February 1902 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 21st [February 1902]. Dull weather again. Modelled all morning. After lunch went with Baker my maid to the Hospital to Mme Wiel’s ward & gave them newspapers & fruits. Home by 4.30. Guggenheim came at 5 & I gave him 5 old Spanish combs to convey to the Museo Correr for me as a gift also 4 Armenian MSS wh Henry had, to give to the Armenian convent. Mr Montalba, Iduna Bel & the Rubini’s also called & I had to send them away at 7 as I went to dine at 7.30 with the Edens & sent all my servants to the theatre to hear the Zarzuela– Trombini came just as I was going out to speak abt next Tuesday’s music so I conveyed him in gondola as far as the Edens wh we parted. I came home early. Very disturbing accounts from Spain. I am sorry that Emilia will just be arriving at Madrid in the midst of it. There is a revolution going on at Barcelona–
