21 April 1902 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 21st [April 1902]. Another lovely hot day. P. & Pss Clary came in the morning to see the pictures & brought with them Ct & Css Czernin to see them. The Count has a fine picture gallery at Vienna & was much interested in what he saw here– Mr Horatio Brown came to see me to talk over the Church improvements– Lunch at 1.30. Iduna Belmondo came at 3 to talk over the launch of the Ferruccio which takes place on Wedy—says I am to have a place with the authorities & the Villiers are to go with her to tribune H. Went out at 4 with the Villiers in gondola. Took them to see the Sailor’s Institute—& then went to Pal. Vendramin to the Dss della Grazia’s first tennis party of the season—in her garden. We left early & returned home by 5.30 & I took Pss Taxis & Count Seckendorff for a row round the public gardens by the Arsenal & Fondamenta Nuove & came home by 7. Dined at 8 & we played 4 handed dominoes in the evening a game I used to play in old days at Consple with Henry, Ct Hatzfeldt & Mr Ittersum.
