30 June 1902 — 3 Savile Row
Monday. 30th [June 1902]. Eda & I began to sort out Henry’s correspondence wh we have to put in order. This took us till lunch time. Connie came to lunch & Elaine Villiers & we discussed my Sale. Connie was for it—all others including myself against it, & we carried the day. It was tremendously hot day. Lady Maxwell Lyte & her girl & Mrs Borwick (of baking powder) & her daughter Mrs Warner came to tea– Lady M. Lyte was disappointed abt my sale– Mrs A. Walrond came to see us abt 6 & then Eda & I went for a little walk but were soon driven home by the rain. I went to dine with Blanche Lady Lindsay—we were alone. There was a thunderstorm wh has much refreshed the air. The bulletins of the King are still satisfactory.
