12 August 1902 — 3 Savile Row
Tuesday. 12th [August 1902]. Nellie & I went to Mrs Sydney Glyn’s house in 27 Grosvenor Place to see the Colonial troops march past to Buckingham Palace to be reviewed by the King. In the evening we dined with Mr Griscom & Mr Widener at the Carlton Hotel in Haymarket. It is a very fashionable place & people was dressed up—a band of music playing &c &c. Afterwards we sat in a hall with flowers & palms & for our coffee. We were joined by Lord & Lady John Scott. I had met her at Bere years ago when she stayed with Arthur.
