24 December 1902 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 24th December [1902]. I accompanied Mme Wiel to the Civil Hospital where we gave about 20 of the children of the ward we visit a small Christmas Tree– I also distributed some winter garments to the sick men in our ward—bought with money given me by Baroness Reinelt—wh brightened up their Christmas a bit for them. Bss Reinelt sent me a lovely pearl dog collar necklace with diamond bars & today was a busy day exchanging small presents with intimate friends.
