29 March 1903 — 3 Savile Row
Sunday. 29th [March 1903]. Nell & I went to the Chapel R. at Marlboro’ House. The K. & Q. were there. Connie came to lunch afterwards & also Vere Ponsonby. His mother has gone to France to join her son Bertie at Tours & they will come on to Venice next week. Major Cuthbertson came to tea & Mr Ambrose Poynter who is also going to Venice next week. About 6 P.M. I went off in a hansom to Princes Garden to see Mrs Chamberlain. Sat a little while with her. She talked a little about her experiences in S. Africa which she seems to have enjoyed vastly & she showed me addresses &c wh had been given to her husband at different towns. I dined quietly at home with Nellie & Charles Wyld who has definitely left the army & is looking out for a business in London to take to.
