Saturday. 4th [July 1903]. Had Mr & Mrs Iddings to lunch. He is 1st sec. of the American Embassy at Rome—very nice people. I went over to the Eden’s garden and Carry gave me a lot of flowers– Went for a row after dinner. Hot night. | |
