8 August 1903 — En route to Fiddown
Saturday. 8th [August 1903]. got into the train where was restaurant car & where we breakfasted—& reached Fiddown by Thurles & Clonmel at abt 11.30. I was very tired & quickly got into bed for an hour & got up again for lunch at 1.45. It was bad rainy weather & blowing hard. Great interest to see all the improvements in progress at Bessborough. The lowering of the approach to the house & building of a porch & new entrance to the house. We walked round the gardens with Weston the gardener. Had tea at 5 in the hall. Dined at 8.15 & early to bed–
