1 November 1903 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 1st November [1903]. This morning the wind went down & there were a few gleams of sunshine—but there are sad accounts of inundations in the Province & the Piave has broken its banks. I did not go out or to church– Sister Clare came after church to do accounts with me. The new American Consul Mr Bliss came to call– Mme Pascolato came to call & to talk over a plan for getting Italian ladies to learn nursing in our hospital.
