19 December 1903 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 19th [December 1903]. Much better & got up after lunch. Mr Harston came to tell me that the excitement at the Com: meeting of the Cos: Hosp: had subsided– It had been settled that the Dr of the Italian Hosp. Dr Vitali who is also the Consulting Dr of our hosp: begged us to settle not to take in Italians; that Lady Radnor is mollified & that things have settled down. Poor Mr Harston looked worn at all his efforts at keeping the peace.
