27 December 1903 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 27th [December 1903]. There was no service today in our church. Mr Harston is still in bed & the American clergyman gone. Nela & I left for Paris by 2 o’cl train. The Prefect, Mr Montalba, the Prinseps & Malagola came to the station to see us off. We had ½ hour to get dinner at Milan. At Turin at 11 to our surprise Cook’s agent met us to say he had secured sleeping car beds for us so we bundled into them thankfully.
