5 January 1904 — Paris | |
Tuesday. 5th [January 1904]. I went to see Sophy in her bed as she had a headache & was not up & then I started off with my maid & luggage at 10.30 for the Gare du Nord & took the train to Calais. Had a rapid & smooth passage to Dover & reached London at 6.45. Charlie Wyld then met & brought me home in a hansom. Nellie met me at the door of 3 Savile Row. I found the house very clean & nice & the Library ready for us to sit in. I am glad to be in my own home again. | |
