6 January 1904 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 6th [January 1904]. Verona Brooke came to see me in the morng. I went over this house to see the improvements & cleaning & painting wh I have had done since my absence. Most of the rooms have had their papers stripped off the walls and wood panels wh were found to exist behind them have been painted & made good. A passage is being built from the dining room to the studio across the yard. The library has also been painted & the panelling made good—& now I am in hopes of being able to let the house for the next season–
