Thursday. 26th [May 1904]. Elsie Cassis called in the morng abt 11 to see some embroidered dresses I had sent for from the Ars Elmilia at Bologna. The Prefect, I found, had gone out for the whole day so I begged her to come back & dine with us which she did at 8. In the afternoon I took Mrs Poynter to the Dss della Grazia’s where we met a good many people & where tennis was being feebly played. | |
