21 June 1904 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 21st [June 1904]. Wrote– Trombini looked in. Mr Harston came in to say that there was a patient at the Hospital who in his delirium eluded the nurse & got out of the window luckily on the roof of the out house & dropped himself down into the garden without hurting himself—much to the horror of Sister Katherine. I promised to go to see her & to have some wires put on the windows. Went out after tea in gondola. Called on Bss Reinelt & found her very dejected & annoyed at the conduct of the Canevaros. It appears the Bss gave them dinner at the Bathing estabt yesterday after they left the Montalbas & were dissatisfied at the fare & were rude to her– In the evening I received friends—the Cassis came, also Mrs Curtis & a few others. It was a hot night & there was a thunderstorm & heavy rain wh was refreshing.
