20 August 1904 — Maraga | |
Saturday. 20th [August 1904]. Having heard that the Eden’s dog is dead & buried the Marquis & I walked up Salce to condole with them as Carry Eden has taken it very much to heart. We left Maraga about 9 & took abt ¾ hour to get there. Sat with Carry & Mr Eden ½ hour & then walked back to lunch. Signor Valsecchi & Signor Bossi came from Venice by the train arriving after 6 P.M. to stay with the Cassis. The latter is secy to the Prefettura at Venice & both are great friends of the Cassis. | |
