8 September 1904 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Thursday. 8th [September 1904]. A pouring rain which lasted till after lunch but Mr M. went out & I did not see him till lunch time. Afterwards tho very gray the rain ceased & we went out in closed gondola & walked in the Piazza– Today is a fête the birth of the Virgin & nearly all the shops were shut. After dinner Mr M. taught me games of patience. | |
