4 October 1904 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 4th [October 1904]. Pasquale still ill– Consulted with Dr about sending him to the Cos. Hos: We shall decide tomorrow. The Count went out with me after lunch to antiquity shops & we returned at 5 & received his friends P. & Pss Andriami & Mme Vitali & Mme Biron [illegible word]. They were enthusiastic about this house, admired every thing pictures, furniture &c & took a great fancy to the bead chains I make & sell for the profit of the hospital—bought some & learnt to make them– Gave them tea & they left delighted– In the evening my usual reception– The Bishop & Miss Talbot, Mons. & Mme Bompard, Signor Placci, Mons. Hertaud his nephew, Mr Woods & young Mr Fildes, Mr Prescott (artist)—Sr Malagola– There was a kind of popular serenade going on on the canal. A steamer with a chorus on board–
