2 January 1905 — Bessborough, Fiddown, County Kilkenny
Monday. 2nd [January 1905]. I left Bessborough very early before it was daylight. Blanche & Gwenydd both came to my room in their dressing gowns to bid me adieu. I only reached the Fiddown station as the train was coming in so had not even time to get tickets– At Tipperary I was supplied with them. Had to change trains at Limerick & reached Ballantine abt 2.30 when the Oranmore carriage was waiting for me & drove me here. Onie is alone. Geoffrey started 10 mins. before I arrived for London– The park is lovely. The house is quite new & not very remarkable but comfortable inside & nicely furnished. The 2 babies came down before their bed time. Dominick is a lovely child. His sister plain but sharp. We played patience in the evening.
