28 May 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 28th [May 1905]. I went to morng service. The great annual Regatta took place today. I invited several friends to come here to see the race. It was a very gay night. We all put out our hangings from the windows– I gave my friends tea in the interim of waiting. The pity of it was that it was very windy & before the evening when the wind fell, it became wet. I went off to the Sailor’s Institute where Dr van Someren made an address to the Sailors– | |
