19 June 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 19th June [1905]. Typed & wrote letters. Sir Philip Burne-Jones and his American friends Mr & Mrs Condert came at 11 to see this house & these pictures. At 3 I started out leaving cards & paying visits & then went on to the hos: to see Ola & came home to 5 o’cl tea– Had a visit from Mlle Aspasie Kwekwitsch sad & forlorn as even & always ailing– She likes to come & sit with me. After dinner I went out in gondola—fetched Ola & Sister Rome & took them out. We met Lady Pirbright taking an airing in her gondola—& she invited me to lunch with her tomorrow. | |
