5 July 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Wednesday. 5th [July 1905]. Sad anniversary! I painted in the morng. Had a visit from Cavaliere Arbib to tell me about Venezia Murano affairs wh are improving. The heat still great & many deaths & illnesses from sunstroke. Did not go out till the Bss Reinelt called for me at 6.30. Iduna Bel. called with her Cariati nephew who is staying with her. I sent Ola the gondola for the evening & did not go out after dinner. Played patience & went early to bed. Ther. 86º in my bedroom. | |
