25 August 1905 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset
Friday. 25th [August 1905]. I was most of the day in my room having got a tiresome headache. Only making an appearance for lunch & then retiring again. However I got up for tea—& afterwards took a walk with Ivor & Nela who came over, to the village to send a telegram to India from Corise to say she was going to India to join Henry her brother. On the way back Ivor said he really saw better– He could distinguish every stone in the path & see every leaf on the trees—also that he found he could always see better in the afternoons than in the mornings. Corise came over to dinner bringing Nela & Miss Enid Williams who is staying with her. Dacre Du Cane came from London. Freddy Guest & his bride also arrived having come all the way in their motor. Mrs Freddy who is an American is a pleasant looking woman—nice eyes—mouth too large—filled with good teeth, however.
