6 September 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 6th [September 1905]. Mr Montalba came in the morning to transact business of the Hospital and I ended in persuading him to allow his name to be “Treasurer” to the same. Hilda came to lunch. After she left I had a visit from Dr Maggioni the sotto Prefetto & asked him to arrange that the new property I want to get near the Hospital should be allowed by the Prefettura who has the final decision on that question, the property being some of a public charity. He said there would be no difficulty. At 4 Mr Montalba came to tea & I then took him out in gondola—we called on the old general & thence I took Mr Montalba to his own house. I came home & went straight to bed as I had a headache against which I had been fighting all day.
