22 September 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 22nd [September 1905]. Sir William Richmond dined with the King. We all went (Aldersons & Eliots) to Princess Giovanilli’s party for the Members of the Art Congress. Iduna Belmondo accompanied us. The Princess looked very handsome & she & the Prince received their guests very kindly. There were torrents of electric light—but the Palace is large & empty—the pictures not very remarkable with exception of the Giorgione. I proposed to some of the notables of the Congress to invite them all to this house tomorrow wh they were delighted at. | |
