11 October 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 11th [October 1905]. Sister Louise (German) came to ask me abt our taking in a German teacher whose mind or nerves seem affected. Contessa Contin also came. She is Swiss—seems kind & nice—was accompanied by a son a very German looking youth a la Goethé—with long hair & solemn manners. They went off to see their friend at the Hospital. I gave Bee the gondola to go out this afternoon & I walked to see the Genl de Horsey & came home by 5 to tea. Elsie Cassis called & brought her children to see me. My godson Dody is grown but looks thin & frail.
