12 October 1905 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 12th [October 1905]. After all we cannot keep poor Frau Streicher at the hospital as hers is pronounced a mental case—so she left this morning. Ola came to lunch & Bee went out with Iduna. I went to pay visits on the Prefettessa &c & found her at home. Mrs Ledyard a friend of Bee’s came to tea. She is an American lady she met in London. Good looking & with a good English accent. Malagola dined with us & took Bee out to hear the Band on the Piazza. Had a visit from Sir G. & Lady Maud Warrender. She brought a feeble looking hanger on a Mr Harris who in his attempt to appear to know about art failed signally. Looking at the Giov. Bellini he remarked that it reminded him of Botticelli!
