26 March 1906 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 26th [March 1906]. Canon Ragg came in the morning to have a long parrochial talk. He seems a nice man—clever & conciliatory. At 11 I went out in gondola to the Caterina to meet Mr Arbib & see Mme Emetaz who is going to open for him an Anglo Italian Pension– It is the place (rebuilt now) where Ruskin used to stay when he came to Venice to write his “Stones of Venice.” It will be a nice place when finished. I went on to the Stabto V. & M. with Arbib to see what he has arranged there. Then looked in for a moment on Angela Reinelt & found her at lunch so I hurried home. Mme Noce called & Malagola & his wife. Went to hospital.
