30 March 1906 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 30th [March 1906]. Arranged my Ceylon orchids & tied them up. After lunch a visit from a Miss Robertson brought by Malagola. She is working at the Archives– A pleasant young woman & speaks Italian well– Then came Fannie Browning to call & Carry Eden. Fannie tells me that she & Pen have sold Palazzo Rezzonico to Jew Hierschel di Minerbis—so that Venetian episode is over– She also has been to Florence & see[n] her husband! several times—& yet—is not going to live with him. There are queer people in this world! It was a cold & stormy day & abt 3 there was a sharp but short snow storm—after wh the sun reasserted itself. I walked to the Piazza & was fetched home in gondola—& came in to 5 o’cl tea.
