17 April 1906 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 17th [April 1906]. Sister B. was got off to England by my servants by 8.30 train to my great relief– After lunch I went to see the Baroness Reinelt & sat with her a while before I went on to the Hospital to see that all was going well which happily is. I had a telegram yesterday from Ola saying she has found me a good matron who will come out this week a Sister Chitty. I came home had tea & then started out again on foot with Baker to buy saucepans &c for the Hospital. My usual Tuesday eveng reception about 15 people came amongst them a Mme Vlasto & her son who came to call yesterday. She was née Zarifi—& I had known her at Consple where her father was Greek banker. She is very little changed—we were delighted to meet. She is now settled in Paris. It was an agreeable surprise for her also to meet Iduna Bel: whom she had also known at Consple where her father (Ehrenhoff) was a long time Swedish Minister.
