27 April 1906 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 27th [April 1906]. Wrote letters & packed for Milan in the morng. Malagola came to lunch at 12.30 & went with me to the station. We started at 2 in a very crowded train. Css Morosini & her daughter were in it also & her high unmusical voice was frequently heard. She paid me a short visit on the way. I was tired & not feeling very well being even a little feverish. We reached our destination a little before 8 & were met by Sr Enrico Arbib who had engaged rooms for us at the Hotel Continental—after settling in we went off to dine at Frologio where we had an excellent dinner for 2:50 a head. On our return to the Hotel we found all the Arbibs arrived from Venice by the train after us. Cav. S. Arbib & his nephew & also Dr Lord. Very wet day–
