15 July 1906 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 15th [July 1906]. Went to morning service. Went at 3.30 to the Madonna dell Orto to call on Mr & Mrs Humphery Johnston & found them in Pal. Contarini sitting in the charming garden they have there wh leads down to the water overlooking Mestre. Had tea with them & sat chatting & then returned home by 6 & did not go out again. Lent my gondola to take out the nurses & patients of the Cos: Hospital that they might see the fireworks wh were reserved for tonight on account of last night’s rain. | |
