1 June 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 1st [June 1907]. Worked all morning at enamels. Eng. Radaelli came to report progress on the work of the hospital & I agreed to meet him in the afternoon at 4.30 over there. Olga Mocenigo & Connie were going out shopping together. I telephoned to the hospital to send the sandolo from there to fetch me & so at 4 Nora & I set out. Just as we got near San Vio great drops of rain fell suddenly & we had to take refuge in the Venezia Murano shop till the storm was over. I also went into the mosaic department to see the drawings prepared for the mosaic ordered for the church at Bessborough & suggested some alterations. Then we proceeded to the Hospital & I went over the work with Signor Radaelli. In the meanwhile Connie & Olga joined us & brought us home by 6 when we had agreed to go out with Angela Reinelt—but it was still stormy so she telephoned to say she was not coming, for wh I was not sorry as I was tired.
